Fishtank [No.9], Itself

A one-man darkwave act, Fishtank No.9 serves up slick and brooding material typical of COP Records. While occassionally airing misguided pretentions towards aggressive industrial sounds, "itSELF" is primarily driven by textured, organic drum loops that lull rather than overpower the listener. This isn't a bad thing, as "itSELF" seems to be best served by repeated and relaxed listenings; lone Fishtank dweller War-N Harrison isn't just whistling dixie when he cites Bel Canto as a major influence. While the songs on "itSELF" aren't instantly memorable, Harrison has a good ear for composition, and blends multiple and varying elements seemlessly with satisfying, if not entirely remarkable, results.
